Biography
Dr. Oren is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in cutting-edge scientific treatments to address a range of issues that often cause individuals emotional and physical pain. With a compassionate and supportive approach, Dr. Oren works with clients to identify and understand the origins of their struggles. Together, they develop personalized strategies to help individuals cope, heal, and rediscover their authentic selves, enabling them to live life to the fullest. Dr. Oren is an experienced therapist who specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness based therapies (MBSR, MBCT), trauma therapies (PE, CPT), tailoring her approach to suit the specific needs of each client.
Dr. Oren has extensive experience in treating insomnia, a condition she believes can be effectively cured. Having run a successful insomnia treatment program at the VA hospital, she now offers her expertise to the wider community. Her approach is both quick and effective, providing relief for those who have struggled with various insomnia treatments without success. In addition to insomnia, Dr. Oren works with adults of all ages and backgrounds on a variety of issues, including nightmares, chronic pain, chronic illness, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress management, and tinnitus.
Dr. Oren completed her clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Nevada, Reno. She received specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) from its founder, Dr. Steven C. Hayes. Dr. Oren completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Sierra Nevada Healthcare System/Reno VA Medical Center, where she received advanced training in PTSD, insomnia, substance abuse, behavioral medicine, and psychological assessment.
